It is through cold-pressed, expeller-pressed and centrifuges that the oil from a fresh coconut is extracted. You would need 65 coconuts to be able to produce a single gallon of coconut oil plus several processes to accomplish the job.
There are two methods in which coconut oil can be extracted from the kernel and this is through dry or wet process. Using the dry processing, the kernel is removed of its meat, and the meat is left out to dry under the sun, then the dried coconut meat undergoes either pressing or dissolved using solvents. On the other hand, the wet process would use the raw coconut meat from the kernel and directly pressed that would result to a liquid mixture of oil and water.
